Simchat
Tot*

with infants and toddlers (ages 0-3) who will spend time together
learning to celebrate Jewish holidays in ways that are fun for the
kids and build community and understanding for the parents. Scheduled
on weekends to better accommodate dads and working parents, Simchat
Tot will meet four Sundays throughout the year: September 26, 2004
- Simchat Tot Sukkah Party, October 10, 2004 - A special Simchat
Torah 'Music with Margie', March 20, 2005 - Simchat Tot Purim party,
and April 17, 2005 - Simchat Tot Passover party.

Holiday
School
Holiday school is our popular monthly pre-school education program
for children ages 3, 4 and pre-K 5 year olds. Holiday School meets
on Tuesday afternoons from 3:30-5:00 p.m. The program begins on
September 21, 2004 and runs monthly through May 17, 2005. Each month,
one holiday is presented via crafts, stories, music and more. The
Holiday School is run by the Sisterhood and is taught and coordinated
by parent volunteers. For more information, please contact Co-directors:
Liz Krebs at 781/326-3503 or Jennifer Kagan at 781/449-8919. Registration
forms are available in the synagogue office.
Story Time
in the Library*
Little kids love stories. Young children and their parents come
together for story time in our synagogue library, enjoy Jewish stories
and age-appropriate crafts, as well as meet other families with
young children. November 7, 2004 and January 16, 2005 from 10:30-11:30
a.m.
Young
Family Havdalah Pajama Parties*
Say good-bye to Shabbat together as a family! Bring your children
to join with other young families at a synagogue member's house
for a dairy dinner, playtime and a Havdalah ceremony to mark the
end of Shabbat. Come with kids in pajamas for a special treat and
to make transition to bedtime easier. November 13 & December
25, 2004, February 5, 2005 from 4:30-6:00 p.m.

Come
Build Community, Join a Havurah!!
Joining a havurah when your children are young is the perfect time!
The havurah groups at Temple Aliyah are about friendship and connection.
Get together on a Saturday evening or Sunday just for good company
and good food. Learn something together with other families.
*Havurah means fellowship in Hebrew. A havurah is a small group
of people who come together to share in a variety of social, religious
and social action events that may include sharing Shabbat dinners,
celebrating holidays, creating meaningful Jewish experiences, etc.
New havurot are continously being formed at Temple Aliyah. If you
are not yet in a havurah, and would like to be part of a unique
"extended family" and a more intimate community within
our broader synagogue community, contact Terri Swartz Russell, Family
Educator at 781-449-8522 or terri@templealiyah.com.
