Letters to TA from Israel — Summer, 2006
This summer, during the conflict with Hezbollah in northern Israel and southern Lebanon, Rabbi Perkins was in Israel, studying at the Hartman Institute in Haifa, and his wife Elana joined him there. Meanwhile, our sister congregation in Kiryat Bialik, a suburb north of Haifa, was under air raid alert and holding services in a bomb shelter. Later in July, TA President Glenn Levine and Youth Committee co-chairman Joey Baron also traveled to Israel on a CJP mission.
