Dr. Jonathan Wilson, chair of the English Department of Tufts University, will discuss his novel, A Palestine Affair, a novel of political intrigue and romance set in 1924 in Palestine under the British mandate, at this co-sponsored breakfast this Sunday Morning, November 2, immediately following minyan, from 9:45-11:00. Autographed copies of the book will be on sale at our book fair (see below). Click here for more information. Our Annual Book Fair will take place on Sunday, November 2nd from 9:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Monday, November 3rd from 3:15-6:45 p.m., and Tuesday, November 4th from 3:15-5:15 p.m. A great selection of both adult and childrens books will be available. We will have two visitIng authors this year. In addition to Professor Wilson (see above), Alan Radding, author of the book Miracles: Stories for Jewish Children and Their Families, will be speaking with student and parent groups throughout the morning on Sunday, November 2nd. |

Join together with others on Friday, November 7th at 6:15 p.m. for the Holiday School Kabbalat Shabbat service to welcome Shabbat, followed by a delicious Shabbat dinner (you don t have to prepare!) After dinner well sing some of the songs our children have been learning during Holiday School (song sheets will be provided). You can still make a reservation, but please act quickly! In coordination with the Boston Jewish Film Festival, Temple Aliyah will be showing an Israeli feature film, A Trumpet in the Wadi, on Sunday, November 23, at 7:30 pm. This modern tragic love story will be the first of a special 3-film series at the Temple this year. Tickets are $8.00 per person and the price includes movie refreshments. Parents of College Students: In order for your students to receive mailings from the Rabbi, and also holiday packages from Sisterhood, we need updated information. We do not plan to send Hanukah packages this year, since the holiday coincides with the December vacation break and most students will be home. However, Sisterhood does plan to send Passover goodies in the spring.
