Director of Education

Alisa Levine is our Director of Education.  Prior to assuming this post at Temple Aliyah,  Alisa Levine served as Director of Education at Temple Israel of Sharon from 2007-2016.  Her portfolio included spearheading several new educational initiatives; leading community programs; and guiding all aspects of formal and informal education for students and their families.

Alisa has worked for decades in the Greater Boston Jewish community having served full time as Program Director of the Striar JCC in Stoughton; Jewish Family Educator at Temple Emunah in Lexington; and part time as a teacher at several local congregational schools and at Solomon Schechter Day School. Over  this time, she has developed and maintained solid relationships with many Jewish communal leaders.

Alisa is so happy to be "coming home" to Temple Aliyah, where she has raised her own family, served as Sisterhood president, and stood alongside her husband, Glenn, who is a past synagogue president.

Sharing the joy of Jewish living and transmitting the wisdom of our heritage has always been among her top personal and professional priorities, and she is thrilled to have the opportunity to be working in partnership with Rabbi Perkins and so many other wonderful staff members, leaders, and friends in what she knows is indeed the very best synagogue in Massachusetts!

Born and raised in St. Louis, Alisa always felt a strong connection to Israel, the conservative synagogue, and the greater Jewish community. A graduate of Brandeis University, Alisa went on to earn a Masters Degree in Jewish Education and a Certificate in Jewish Family Education from Hebrew College in Newton. Alisa enjoys art, reading, cooking, bur most of all spending time with Glenn, and traveling to visit their children Rozzie and Ben in New Haven, and Avi and Arielle in New York.

Alisa can be reached through the Temple office at (781) 444-8522 or email.
