Staying Connected at Temple Aliyah

Staying Connected is Temple Aliyah's social group for those who are 55+. We sponsor activities throughout the year that focus on maintaining our connection to Temple Aliyah as well as welcoming new Temple members in our age cohort. Some of our events include a Rosh Hashanah Wine & Cheese gathering; attending Boston-area theater and comedy productions; Temple Aliyah showings of Israeli-themed movies in collaboration with Israel Kesher; hosting our ‘Staying Connected Shabbat; organizing a SC Fun night; and sharing Shabbat together at our SC Shabbat Dinner.

Staying Connected also co-sponsors TA programs that focus on the 55+ cohort such as promoting Havurot, The Conversation Project and end of life information sessions, and The Wise Aging Project. Whether you’re a long-time Temple member or brand new to our community, we look forward to meeting you! We welcome new ideas and participation, and look forward to staying connected with you at Temple Aliyah!

For more information, watch for Staying Connected announcements in TA’s Coming Up e-newsletter, or contact our committee co-chairs, Harvey Greenberg or Helene Greenberg.

Did you know...?

Major League Baseball season opens this week, the earliest in history! Did you know that Temple Aliyah’s B’nai Mitzvah Tutor, Hazzan Linda Sue Sohn, had the honor of singing the Star Spangled Banner at Fenway Park on Mother’s day in 2009? And listed among his most exciting moments as a sports fan, Temple Aliyah President David Farbman savors the memory of being at Fenway Park for Jon Lester’s no-hitter on May 19, 2008. And, if that's not enough Jewish baseball trivia, Rabbi Gordon’s favorite way to unwind after a busy day is to watch the Red Sox. Why not share your favorite baseball moments today?
