About Gan Aliyah Preschool

Gan Aliyah Preschool is our early childhood program at Temple Aliyah in Needham, MA, which opened in 2014 with an inaugural class of 8 students with 2 certified early childhood teachers in its Toddler program.   Now including classrooms for 3s and 4s as well, Gan Aliyah Preschool engages students in creative and inspiring experiences designed to foster their curiosity and exploration.  Our curriculum is created by our highly qualified and experienced teachers to reflect the interests of our children, with a seamlessly integrated Jewish and secular curriculum.  Classrooms are designed to inspire exploration and discovery by the children.  Our program includes the best practices of social learning, and develops your child's sense of self and others, and the world around him or her.    Learning and playing in our warm, nurturing atmosphere and beautiful communal spaces, your child can grow and explore, surrounded by music, creativity and Jewish values  Children and parents feel right at home, surrounded by caring educators and a supportive staff. We offer Music with Margie during the school day on a regular basis, and have included yoga occasionally as well. During our 2017-18 school year we will also be hosting regular Jammin' With You music and movement classes.

Our program is fully licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC).  Gan Aliyah Preschool meets or exceeds all standards set by EEC.

Gan Aliyah Preschool and the Temple Aliyah family thrive under the enthusiastic leadership of Rabbi Carl Perkins and Debbi Fendell, our Director of  Early Childhood Education.  Rabbi Perkins and Debbi are frequent visitors to the classroom where they  engage with students and families in music and learning, Shabbat and holiday celebrations. Debbi is a daily presence in the school, working with staff, students and families. Gan Aliyah is welcoming and open to families of all faiths and ethnic groups who wish to attend.

Did you know...?

In celebration of Rabbi Perkins’ more than 25 years at Temple Aliyah, here is this week's question: Do you know how many books are in the Rabbi’s Office library at the synagogue? If you guessed 1,223 you would be correct! What would you add to your own home library to round it out Jewishly? Here are some suggested books you might want to consider.
