About Gan Aliyah Preschool

GA science kid

Gan Aliyah Preschool is our early childhood program at Temple Aliyah in Needham, MA, which opened in 2014 with an inaugural class of 8 students with 2 certified early childhood teachers in its Toddler program.   Now including classrooms for children from 18 months to 5 years old as well, Gan Aliyah Preschool engages students in creative and inspiring experiences designed to foster their curiosity and exploration.

Our program is fully licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC).  Gan Aliyah Preschool exceeds staffing ratios required by our licensing agency with intimate classroom size and two teachers in each classroom.

Gan Aliyah Preschool and the Temple Aliyah family thrive under the enthusiastic leadership of Rabbi Carl Perkins, Cantor Jamie Gloth and Debbi Fendell, our Director of  Early Childhood Education.  All three are frequent visitors to the classroom where they engage with students and families in music and learning, Shabbat and holiday celebrations. Debbi is a daily presence in the school, working with staff, students and families. Gan Aliyah is welcoming and open to families of all faiths and ethnic groups who wish to attend.

Are you considering giving your child the gift of time with another pre-kindergarten year? Would you like him or her to try a different program? Then we are ready to welcome him or her! Our experienced staff are skilled at accommodating individualized curriculum goals for children who are ready for more but not quite ready for kindergarten. Your child will thrive during an extra year as s/he gains skills in the foundational areas of social/emotional development as well as all cognitive learning domains.

Donations made to Temple Aliyah are now listed every month, on a special donations received page. This replaces the prior listing in the "Shofar," which for the past few years has only come out annually. There you can find donations for December, 2018-August, 2019 and for the month of September, 2019, and they will be added to that page on a monthly basis.
