Arlene Bryer


Arlene Bryer is proud to serve as Temple Aliyah's president, 2019–2021. Arlene has been on the Temple board since 2012, first as the cochair of the Funds and Endowment committee and then as VP of Strategy and Development. Arlene also led the Aliyah B'Yachad campaign to raise money for Gan Aliyah and to retire the mortgage.

Arlene was born in Montreal, Canada and has a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing from Concordia University in Montreal and a MBS in International Studies from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. She has worked in retail companies and banks and since moving to Boston, in non-profit organizations. Her previous position was Director of Development at Solomon Schechter Day School, where her children went to school.

Arlene likes traveling, biking, reading and spending time with family and friends. She is married to Haldon and they have two children, Benjamin and Jason. 

One of Arlene's passions is engaging and learning from others. She looks forward to meet and to get to know each member in our wonderful community.

Did you know that Gan Aliyah Preschool is a fabulous place for young children and families? Do you or someone you know have a young child between the ages of 18 months and 5 years old?  Gan Aliyah seamlessly integrates secular and Judaic early childhood learning in deeply meaningful ways that support a love of Judaism, family and community. * During the summer, minyan meets on Monday morning, and Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
