Growing Together: Gan Aliyah Students’ Summer Garden Adventure

This summer, our Gan Aliyah students embarked on a wonderful gardening journey, planting tomatoes, cucumbers, beans, herbs, flowers, and more. Now, the fruits of their labor are beginning to show, bringing a vibrant splash of life to our garden beds.

A Burst of Growth

Earlier this summer, our 3-5-year-old Gan students eagerly took to our new raised garden beds. Guided by Aileen Landau, the Director of Gan, and Meryl Fink, a dedicated member of our Garden Coordinating Committee, the young gardeners set to work with little trowels and a lot of enthusiasm. Carefully digging holes, placing their plants, and gently watering them, the children nurtured their green charges with joy and patience.

A Promising Harvest

The results are starting to bloom! Our tomatoes are beginning to grow, and the cucumbers are almost ready for harvesting. The students’ dedication and care are evident in every sprout and blossom. Take a look at these photos showcasing the early stages of our flourishing garden!

Looking Ahead

Though school is out for the rest of the summer, we invite those who are still in the area to join us in harvesting the crops when the time comes. The excitement doesn’t end here—plans for fall planting with the Mercaz and Gan schools are already underway. We’re looking forward to another season of growth, learning, and community.

Stay tuned for more updates and opportunities to get involved in our garden adventures!
